Joseph Shkreli
I’m a New York State licensed acupuncturist who found this path through personal healing. My journey began in the martial arts world through boxing, jiu-jitsu, and Muay Thai, where I developed a deep respect for the body and its ability to recover. While training in Thailand, a hip injury paused everything. It wasn’t until an acupuncturist visiting from New York treated me that I experienced true, drug-free relief. Within days, I was moving freely again, and I knew I wanted to offer that same kind of healing to others.
I specialize in orthopedic acupuncture and holistic pain management. My work supports those navigating everything from lower back pain and rotator cuff injuries to stress-related tension and mobility issues. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate electroacupuncture, cupping, Tui Na, and infrared heat therapy to promote circulation, reduce inflammation, and accelerate recovery.
I offer thoughtful, individualized treatments that meet you where you are, helping you reconnect with your body, restore ease, and move forward with greater freedom. I support patients back to natural movement, easing chronic pain, and promote whole-body balance.
My approach is grounded, compassionate, and focused on empowering people to feel at home in their bodies again. If you’re ready to embark on this path with acupuncture, I am ready to guide you.

“I suffered from frozen shoulder for over 8 months. After going to a renowned specialist hospital in Manhattan and then working with a PT person I still could barely raise my left arm above my shoulder. Very frustrating. I had actually started to accept that It might stay that way. After 6 sessions with Joseph, my arm is back to normal. Amazing.” - Ryan M.

Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that involves inserting ultra-thin needles into specific points on the body to promote natural healing. It works by supporting the nervous system, improving circulation, and helping the body release tension and inflammation. Often used for pain relief, stress reduction, and injury recovery, acupuncture encourages balance throughout the body physically, mentally, and energetically.

A first session typically begins with a full intake to discuss health history, lifestyle, and current symptoms. This may be followed by a physical assessment, including posture and range of motion, to help guide the treatment. During the session, ultra-thin needles are inserted at specific points on the body to support circulation, reduce pain, and encourage healing. Most people leave feeling relaxed, grounded, and more in tune with their bodies.

Acupuncture is generally not painful. The needles used are extremely thin, much finer than those used for injections. Some people feel a slight pinch, dull ache, or tingling sensation, but discomfort is usually minimal and temporary. Many describe the experience as calming, and some even fall asleep during treatment.
